Here is a stunning Fenton Cranberry Hobnail pattern opalescent oil lamp with a wonderful cast metal cherub serving as the lamp's base. The details are very fine and the lamp itself is simply fabulous. The Fenton opalescent hobnail font and shade are perfectly matched and the cranberry color is deep and rich with very little wear and no cracks. The burner had to be all but completely restored, but I am happy to say it is once again working, as it should. The markings on the wick knob are hard to read but show either 1860 or 1880 patent dating. I tend to think it looks more like 1860, but that is only my opinion. The lamp stands a full 27 inches from base to the top of the chimney, which itself is a very unusual and eye catching accent to the already appealing cranberry lamp. Want to really give a special someone a truly special gift? This beautiful lamp is that and more. On top of it all, it works.
