Circa: 1860 Condition: used. as found antique Color: aged brass Country of Origin: United States Manufacturer: unknown Author: us military
Here is a very nice Civil War blanket roll buckle as seen in the collectors encylopedia of the CIVIL WAR By Lords. Although these buckle covers were originally used as part of the Cavalry's saddle gear, the Lords book gives reference to it also being used frequently by the Confederate soldiers as part of their binding for their blankets. This is a very good looking, mellow age patina'd piece and is also in quite nice condition. THIS IS A REF WHICH SHOWS THESE AS BEING CONFEDERATE AND USED FOR BLANKET ROLL BELTS/
