Rare antique glazed stoneware salt box with a delicate blue over white, Daisy and Trellis pattern with the word Salt in raised blue letters and still complete with its original lid. These old time salt boxes, or crocks as some call them, were hung on a wall or placed on the counter near the stove. There are a few small chips out of the bottom edge of the crock and a larger one on the lid, but considering the age of this salt box and how easy it is to drop and break one of these heavy but delicate lids, I think you'll go a long way before finding another as nice as this. The crock measures six inches in diameter and is just under six inches tall. No cracks and no heavy wear. Just a nice looking old antique salt crock for someone's collection.
