Circa: 1860's Condition: used antique Color: walnut and old iron Country of Origin: United States Manufacturer: Spang & Wallace Author: Spang & Wallace
Early 12 gauge double barrel hammer type percussion shotgun that is marked on the right lock with the maker's name, Spang & Wallace. The gun is in very good condition and is fully functional, with tight springs and a strong lock-up. Both locks and hammers are engraved, and I believe the right hammer has been replaced. The metal finish is a nice plum brown with some pitting on the 31" steel barrels. There is also a lot of engraving on the trigger guard, tang and butt plate. The walnut stock has a nice original finish with nice checkering at the wrist and there are no cracks or damage. This is a very good looking early percussion shotgun that will make a great display piece. |
