A very nice antique Japanese Samurai sword tsuba or (hand guard) dating from the late 17 to early 1800s. Forged in iron this tsuba has a very simply scroll design around the outside edge and it measures 2 7/8 inches in diameter. The tsuba is hammered at slight a taper with the thinnest portion being near the edge. Excellent "ring" denoting a good temper. I guarantee this fully to be an authentic original antique tsuba. |
