The bottle is lightly tapered and waisted, and superbly cut with concave panels, scoops, and triangles. CONDITION: some wear on exposed surfaces; no cracks or hairlines; hinge firm, good lid fit - if you have any questions about this item, contact me. The rectangular cut glass bottles have bevelled edges and cork lined, sterling silver dome tops. The outer edges of the box are decorated with gilt leaf stripes, the flap is lined with green felt. FINE c.1850 OXFORD LAVENDER ATTAR SCENT PERFUME BOTTLE A fine Oxford Lavender clear glass scent bottle, with four cut wells on two sides and excellent retained enamelled decoration. Also known as a "throwaway" the bottle is embellished on two sides with raised white enamel leaf sprigs, blue and orange floral dots, and gilt flower heads in the wells. The other two sides are decorated with white enamel bead patterns. The base and rim are embellished with gilt and there are remnants of a gilt band around the neck.
