The bottle features a young couple in rococo dress standing in a hand embellished country setting; the scene continues on the reverse. c1870 PORTRAIT SCENT PERFUME BOTTLE WITH FAUX BOIS DECORATION An unusual and splendid porcelain scent bottle, with a suspensory ring, brass cork lined screw top, and plain collar. The bottle is decorated with a hand embellished polychrome portrait of an elegant young lady in Empire style dress, within a gilt thread like cartouche. The rest of the bottle is decorated with the same finely worked, raised gilt thread, over delicate, hand painted faux bois effects. EARLY 1900s CHINESE CERAMIC SCENT PERFUME BOTTLE An attractive porcelain scent bottle, with a lightly swelled ovoid body and silver screw top and collar. The bottle is hand enamelled with an overglaze polychrome figure of a warrior holding a sword, the helmet is picked out in gilt. There are two rows of characters either side of the figure, and a panel of further characters to the reverse within a green and black line border. The cork lined top is mounted with an additional thin embossed silver disk displaying a large stylised flower head and a festoon band. <b>Condition:</b> silver disk possibly a later addition; light rubbing to the warrior motif; slight surface age and use wear, bottle undamaged, good lid fit <b> - if you have any questions about this item, contact me.
