M90018

Rhinestone Poodle Pendant Necklace Childs So sweet. A childs blue rhinestone Poodle dog pendant on fine link chain of 15 inches, spring ring close. Chain has patina consistent with age, as does the back of the pendant which is goldtone. 1930's to early 1940's. The rhinestone Poodle is made up of individually multi-faceted and claw set rhinestones round cut and marquis shaped, the tail and feet are goldtone. The back of the pendant shows some rubbing of the goldtone and this was obviously, at one time, a little girl's favorite piece of jewelry. The powder blue rhinestones are all still very sparkly.
Circa: 1930-1940

F90004

Penny Farthing Bicycle Pendant Silver 925 Articulated A turn of the century Penny Farthing Bicycle, so named in England because the size of the large wheel was named after a copper penny and the size of the smaller wheel was named after the copper farthing. This pendant is solid silver, marked 925 and all parts are fully articulated, the wheels spin around and the handlebars turn. The size of the pendant is 1-3/4 inches wide by 1-1/2 inches in height. Excellent condition. There is a bale between the handlebars and the seat for a chain.

Art Deco Reverse Painted Colored Foils Signed A beautiful example of early century reverse painting under glass by Smith Frederick, a well known artist of this era. In this piece, he has incorporated the use of coloured foils in the embellishment of the flowers in the vase, with the exception of two of the top centre flowers, where the foils are used only for the centre of those two flowers and the petals reveal the background of the picture. Also the black leaves spiking out from the floral arrangement, all of the outlines of each individual flowers, the vase and decorative embellishment on the vase are reverse painted under glass, without the foils. The colours used in the foils are really lovely and still exceptionally vibrant. He has used colours of silver, copper, bronze and pewter with teal blue for the bluebell flowers. This work is all in perfect vintage condition, with no issues to note whatsoever. This work has stood the test of time magnificently. Unfortunately, my pictures don't do this work adequate justice at all as it was difficult to capture the beauty of the colours and flawless artistry in this piece without getting significant glare from the glass. The background colour is a pink peach. The frame is wood painted black with an inner banding of gold and is in very good vintage condition with no significant signs of wear. The measurements are 7-3/4 inches wide from east to west and 11-3/4 inches tall from north to south, including the frame which is 1/2 inch wide all around. Signed by the artist, Smith Frederick.
Circa: 1910-1930

26

Original Miniature Watercolor by Emma Daniels A beautifully executed original miniature watercolour by the British artist Emma Daniels. Depicts the English countryside, hills, trees and the roof of a farmhouse way in the distance, peeking out behind a hillside. Magnificent vibrant colors, amazingly detailed in such a small painting. The painting measures just over 1-3/4 wide from east to west and is 2-1/4 inches in height. It is matted on an off-white matting. It is unframed and has four clips holding the glass around the picture, as shown in the photograph. Framed measurements are 4-1/4 wide by 5 inches tall. It is ready to hang as such or could be re-matted and reframed using a much larger matt and more traditional frame for a more intense and dramatic effect, as so many miniatures are now. Condition is excellent, estimated age around the 1980's.

Oil Painting on Glass, Southern Belle in Garden A very charming hand painted picture on glass with pale pink satin under the glass. This beautiful early 1900's picture depicts a southern belle sitting in a garden, she holds a basket of pale pink and blue flowers over one arm and she is gazing up at two birds fluttering around a bird house. Many beautiful flowers in the garden in delicate shades of lilac, lavender, pink and mint green. She wears a lovely pink and white dress with blue flowers at the sleeves and a large black bow at the back to match the ribbons in her bonnet. Her hair is dressed in ringlets and this delightful work may even date back as far as the Victorian era, although I believe it is around 1900 - 1920. The painting is in perfect condition with absolutely no flaws, no scuffing, no scratches and no loss of paint anywhere at all - and the colours are strong and vibrant. The glass is quite dirty and I have not dared to clean it for fear of inflicting any damage but have left in it's original as found condition. The frame is wood, painted black with an inner banding of gold. The frame itself shows very minor wear except for the paper backing covering the back which is very brittle and fragile and has been poorly taped at one corner, as I have shown in the picture. There is a small brass fixture on the back for hanging. I see no signature on this piece and have not attempted to take it apart to look for one. The measurements are 6-1/2" inches by 6-1/2" inches square, including the frame - the inside painting is 5-1/4" inches square. The frame has a few minor abrasions which are not at all noticeable, overall, this delightful and so charming oil painting has withstood the test of time extraordinarily well. This painting was done in oils, the gown in particular shows some beautiful brush work.

59

Original Signed Watercolor by D. Madge Framed A beautifully executed original signed watercolour by D. Madge (possibly Madge Graves who was famous for paintings of New England landscapes and Wildflowers who lived from early 1900's until 1984.) Depicts a beautiful array of countryside wildflowers, including lily of the Valley, Foxgloves, cornflowers, daisies, ferns, ivy and lovely pink open roses. Colors are magnificent, pastels of soft pinks and greens, with dramatic indigo blues for the cornflowers and narcissus, blended nicely with the dramatic whites of the lilly of the valley and daisies. A beautifully executed rendition of wildflowers. The painting measures just over 10 wide from east to west and is 13 inches in height. It is matted on an soft green matting which is a color that blends nicely with the ferns in the picture. It is framed in a wood frame that has been painted a soft pink. The painting is in very excellent condition, the frame however does show some wear consistent with age and is, I believe, the original frame. This painting was executed in the late 1940's.

1747

Original Watercolor Painting Signed H.M. Cooke Dated This is a very lovely original watercolor, signed by the artist H.M. Cooke and dated 1947. The colours are very vivid, burgundy, greens, golden yellows, pastels of blue and lilacs, and this painting has been excellently preserved under glass and there is absolutely no fading or damage anywhere at all. The painting was professionally re-framed in the 1980's. The matting is a burgundy colour and the frame is brushed gold tone. It is ready to hang with wire on the back. My pictures definitely do not do this artwork any justice at all as they really do not convey the intricate detail of the artist's depiction of the subject. The flowers are, I believe, Iris flowers. The actual painting measures 9-1/2 inches wide from east to west and the height is 13 inches. The measurement, as framed, is 14-1/4 inches wide by 19-1/4 inches in height. Perfect condition. Please ignore camera flash and reflections from the glass.

590

Art Deco Navy Blue Kelly Handbag -WW11 1940's WW11, 1940's era or perhaps even a little earlier. A forerunner of the 1950's Kelly handbag made so popular by Grace Kelly. It is in very good to excellent vintage condition but does show some patina around the insertion rings at at the bottom of the carry handles. It is a double carry handle handbag and the carry handles are in excellent condition with no sign of wear. One of the sweetest little vintage handbags I have come across with the only flaw to note being a little cracking to the vinyl interior lining inside at the corners where it folds and this has been adjusted in the price. Darkened copper colour gold tone frame. Pretty scalloped top and open flap pockets at the front and back of the main part of the purse that you can tuck small items into. Lovely pebble grain texture to the leather like exterior. The inside of the frame is very attractively etched in a Greek Roman style motif all the way around. The double carry handles have a height of 6" inches from the top of the purse. The interior is lined in a dark navy blue vinyl type fabric to co-ordinate with the exterior and is absolutely clean . Their is no designer name but there is a stamping inside on the lining which says Made in USA. One inside zippered pocket with the old style of metal zipper in perfect working order. Measurements are 9-1/2 inches wide by 7-1/4 inches in height, depth is 2 inches.
