Circa: 1880-1910 Condition: Used Manufacturer: Vintage Unsigned Exquisitely intricate Bohemia region Art Nouveau brooch, originally a sash pin, crafted in gilted brass and depicting an abundance of shamrocks, clover and acorns. Trailing, gadrooned stems, and tiny leaves around the acorns. Very fine estamperie workmanship on this piece, elaborate and intricately detailed, the piece exhibits all the hallmarks of fine Czechoslovakian bijouterie and Gurtler craftmanship. The brooch measures 2 1/2 inches in diameter and is in excellent condition with no damage.

| The pin back appears to be a replacement, this was obviously a very cherished piece, the newer pin back features a safety catch for security. Gorgeous Art Nouveau example, circa 1880-1910, likely Gablonz area in origin, which later became Czechoslovakia, please reference Sibylle Jargstorf's book, The Heritage of Bohemia, for similar examples. |
