This rare brass Bremen Town Musicians bottle opener features the brave animal heroes-a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster standing on each other. Their story was told by the Brothers Grimm in the form of a fairytale and Bremen has erected a monument to them: the Bremen Town Musicians, who, threatened by death at home, each hoped to find a new life and freedom in Bremen. The sculpture was created by the sculptor Gerhard Marks in 1953.Touching the front hooves is said to make wishes come true.
It measures 6 inches length and 2,75 inches width. |
