Large, Fenton Art Glass red carnival glass Thistle vase. Ware number 8769.
Thistle vase is pictured in the reference book 'Fenton Glass Compendium 1985-2001' by John Walk, on page 20. It is shown in the book in Plum Carnival.
This vase is made in a very lovely, deep red glass. It is large and heavy, having 1/4 inch thick glass.
Marks: Vase bears the sandblasted F on its bottom, indicating that it is a Fenton second. Seconds were sold primarily in the Fenton Gift Shop.
Circa: 1997.
Size: 9 1/4 inches tall; 6 3/4 inches wide.
Condition: Very good. Vase has a small, flat chip on top of the rim. The interior has some roughness, along with a couple of surface nicks near the bottom. |
