Cute little Black Americana Picaninny doll. This is the little boy of the family, about 5 and 1/2 inches tall, and is ceramic or porcelain in material. He has black strands of yarn hair, his arms and legs are jointed and he is wearing blue rompers with a red and white striped shirt. He has wide white painted eyes and red lips.

SANTAS 1930 American Santas Through The Decades Galleria Lucchese Cloth-like Cloth Like 1998 #66953.
Mint condition in original box with paperwork, never displayed. 6+ inch, OP $49.50.
Similar in style to the Possible Dr___s folks.
The sculpture is from the American Santas Through the Decades series, exclusively from Roman, Inc. and are part of the Galleria Lucchese collection. It is the Cloth-Like Santa.
As a result of their superb artistry and meticulous craftsmanship the collection has earned the accolade of 'the ultimate Santas' .
Indeed, they capture the nostalgic feeling of the 19th century Santas as well as their historic forms. They are quite different from the familiar red-suited fellow most of us grew up waiting for on Christma Eve.
These are the Santas of our ancestors and each is accompanied by story about the life and times in that decade. They will bring a bit of the romantic past to your holidays - now and in the future as your collection acheives heirloom status.

{From the back of the box:} We hope you have enjoyed your journey through the decads and invite you to learn more about the history of Santa Claus each time you add a new sculpture to your personal collection.
Specifics: The sculpture is ~ the c. 1930 Galleria Lucchese Cloth Like Santa. He is new, in his original box with the original papers. I don't believe he was ever removed from the original packaging or displayed.
His original papers were in an unsealed packet, and only contains the Santa bio.
This Santa was produced in 1996 and his # is 66953. He stands about 6 inches high, and is quite heavy.
He is full of very cool details. He is wearing a burgundy overcoat and hat. The overcoat is trimmed with blue tinged fur, and his hat is trimmed, at the brim, with a very nifty twisted braid to match the color of the coat trim. The "ball" of the hat is also quite unique, and I'm not quite sure how to describe it other than it appears to be, maybe, crocheted or knitted...very different, but very cool. The overcoat has an attached, matching, short cape-type fitting, which is trimmed in a twisted braid, looks like a miniature version of the hat, and is embellished with gold at the shoulders. It also has two bright blue attachements at the breast. In his right hand, he carries a small Christmas tree and in his right, he holds a snowman ornament or puppet by the string. He has a reddish brown satchel at his left side with orange tassels and a gold medallion which is also trimmed with gold bells and orange bows. On his back he carries a teal sack, which has a burlap look, trimmed in gold and brown. It contains a small brick doll house, a wrapped gift, a blue stuffed fabric ball with gold stitches, and a gold horn. He stands in the snow wearing brown boots, and he, festively, has sprigs of holly tucked here and there upon his person.

He is quite charming and jolly, with his blue eyes and rosey nose and cheeks. A definitely wonderful addition to your collection.

On the bottom of the statue is the Galleria Lucchese Logo, the Roman, Inc. name and logo, the 1996 copyright date and the CandyCane marking, all in dark green.
