Vintage 1930s Block Ice Carrier Hook
This metal I categorize as Pot Metal, but it could be Steel or iron. It needs cleaning if you want it shiny. There is a Patent # on the front as shown,but I can't make it out. I remember as a little girl in the late 1940s seeing the ice man come and sling a Block of ice in our ice box using a carrier like this. Today perhaps its used for Dry Ice. Antique Pewter Novelty Swashbuckling Sword
After some research, I still can't find information on that impish little face on the handle.It looks sort of Disney but I can't find a character to match. It has been in my possesion since approximately 1970's and I can't remember where it was acquired! So your guess is as good as mine!At any rate it should fit into someone's collection. There are some metal spots that need some cleaning as shown in the photos.The blade length measures 29 inches. The blade had an aged hard brown leather case which crumbled some years back.
