Antique Asian Red Clay TeaCup Rough type of red clay used for this cup.
There are a few rough spots around the edges where the glaze is worn off, so you can feel how this is NOT one of your thin fine china porcelain clays. I have searched and researched the Signature Mark and come up with Zilch,SO I am just putting it out there for someone else to do it!The body is about 1/8 inch thick and very no nonsense in the weight(6 ounces). Seems like a very Utilitarian cup potted by someone who wanted it for everyday, BUT also wanted Beauty by the loveliness of the Scribed and Delicately colored Flower! The clay has discoloration in spots,so it wasn't as I said the best clay OR is older than my educated wide ranging guess or it could be from 1000 cups of tea!
