American maker unknown for this pattern, c. 1875. 9"d x 8"h. with cover, 5" h. without cover. This compote has a patterned foot and a flower finial. Unlike many pieces, the pattern is on the inside of the glass, rather than the outside. The cover fits very well. The rim on which the lid rests has a series of small chatter marks on the outside edge which you can feel plus 2 flat flakes on the surface, the largest being 1/4" long. The underside of the lid rim has a 1" section of small chatter marks and a 1/8" flat surface flake. Under the base rim are 2 small chips, one about 1/8", the other 1/4". (146X)
