1870 Eastlake Tortoise Frame Old Print Horses This is a beautiful ca. 1870 Eastlake frame with 3 separate layers. The inner one is gilded wood - middle is Tortoise & outer is a black lacquer finish with an incised delicate pattern & gilded inner edge. 1875 Eastlake Frame Litho Girl w/ Caged Robin This beautiful Eastlake style frame ca.1875 has two separate layers. The first is carved walnut while the inner layer (only 1/2 inch wide) is lightly gilded & painted or inked over in an X design. The vintage lithograph that came with it dates back to about the same time as the frame. A girl looks pensively out her window to listen to the bird (robin?) in the cage sing. The frame has a few corners that don't line up exact, as most of this age do. The litho has a few tiny specks of white - but when we took it apart it seems to have been made that way & it had no flaws. 1875 Eastlake Frame Litho Girl going w/ Angel This is a beautiful pair! The 12 1/4 x 14 1/4 inch Eastlake frame has 4 layers. The outer one is walnut that has a gilded groove that runs all the way around the center of the outer edge - the walnut is 2 inches in depth & has a raised rounded black line in the center of inner edge. The next layer is all gilded w/ a grooved edge. The 3rd layer has a black lacquer finish with an incised delicate pattern. The 4th is another gilded w/groove edge to match the 2nd layer. The lithograph that came with it dates back to the time of the frame in 1875 - a mother holds her sick daughter as she points to the cherubs above who are coming for her - a common theme back then. The lithograph has a few specks, but is not torn, stained, creased or have other flaws. The frame is in FABULOUS condition for it's age with only minor age wear - pieces of a paper on back are in a foreign language. We'd call them in EXCELLENT condition. 1880 Tortoise Frame Lg. Currier Ives FARM IN THE WINTER This ca. 1940 large 19 1/4 x 15 1/2 inch Currrier & Ives Winter Scene titled THE FARM IN WINTER is signed and dated 'in print' by artist G.H.Durrie 1865. When we aquired the unused leftover stock from the Joseph C. Hoover Calendar Co. in Philadelphia that closed in the early 1950's we found this MINT print in their 1940's calendar print portfolio.

It was the only Currie & Ives we found & checking on Google it said that Nate Currier went to Philadelphia & New York to do contract work - he also later sent to some of the larger companies some of his prints to be colored - so this is how the Hoover Co. probably ended up with this print.

It's 23 5/8 x 19 3/4 inch frame ca. 1880 is one piece pine made to look like a three layer frame - outer is painted wood grain tortoise w/ outside black edge - black gloss middle - inner gold layer. Together they compliment each other beautifully.

Gorgeous Victorian Embossed PAPER Frame Unusual RARE! This is a RARE frame that is made of heavily embossed thick paper that curves inward & outward. The background is a light blue to pinkish beige with cherry blossoms at top spilling down the sides with a mediterranean scene with boats on the bottom. It is 7 1/4 W x 10 H inches with the opening for the picture 3 1/2 x 5 inches. Picture slides in from the back - it never had glass and stands with a heavy cardboard easel. It is ALL ORIGINAL with the only flaw some slight water stains & aged patina which only makes it more beautiful. We have one other that came with this one that would make a beautiful pair. SEE PICS! These may be the only ones you will ever see!

Three inch wide convex frame is made of guilded wood with very ornate dainty composition lacework applied to the sides with floral designs in the corners. 1885 Composition Frame Cows Children Lithograph Uncommon chromolithograph of a typical 19th Century pastoral scene featuring children and cows is in it's original heavy composition frame - both ca. 1885. The heavy compo frame has a high relief floral design that sometimes overwhelms the picture within it, but these two blend together beautifully. MUST SEE PICS! 1875 Eastlake Frame w/ RARE 6 color Print This gorgeous ca.1875 Eastlake frame is 18 1/4 x 16 1/4 inches & has 3 separate layers. The outer one is carved walnut w/ inner edge inked black in an X pattern - middle a painted burl wood finish with an incised delicate pattern & inner one is gilded with a painted X pattern on top. The frame is in INCREDIBLE condition for it's age.

We have added the beautiful HTF MINT 12 x 10 inch print of a mother with baby that came from the Joseph C. Hoover & Sons Co. in Philadelphia that closed in the 1950's whose new old leftover stock we acquired. 1900 Composition Frame - Lady by pool Print This is a beautiful ca. early 1900's sepia toned print of a golden haired lady in a filmy diaphanous dress seated by a garden pond - MUST SEE PICS! The 1.25 x 1.25 inch matting had to be replaced since it was stained, but we used a beige silk looking matte that was very close to what the original was. The original early 1900's composition frame with low relief design is in beautiful condition with no broken or missing composition - VHTF. It is in tones of beige with touches of gilding. Print has no tears, stains, wrinkles, creases or other flaws - both would be in EXCELLENT condition.
