Franciscan APPLE indv. APPLE DISH ashtray The backstamp on this cute little dish dates to late 1930s early 1940s. Small Franciscan APPLE patterned 'ashtray' is in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or crazing. There are a few light scratches to center area and one rogue, but otherwise plate is in excellent shape. Backstamped w/ circular scripted 'FRANCISCAN WARE' w/ three-line center 'MADE IN CALIFORNIA U.S.A.'. There are some incised marks that were impossible to photograph, they are '63B' '1sT' '54yP' 'U6V' - unsure as to meaning.
