Early BEACON swastika blanket shawl This all cotton BEACON shawl is in VERY GOOD condition w/ some gentle use, two small mends but strong pattern and colors - MUST SEE PICS! This design goes way back dating 1911-1915* and was still made up into the 1930s, but certainly a limited number of years. Features repeating swastikas in diamonds, super eye-dazzler type blue on blue pattern in bands on ends and very soft muted colors of brown, dusty blue, grey blue, cream and golden hand-tied fringe. WOW! A great find and an increasingly scarce pattern to find - especially in this nice condition. I'd say about an 8-8.5 on a ten scale. Measures 62 inches wide by 70 long not including fringe. IMMC Panama Pacific STEAMSHIP blanket RARE! Can't imagine there are too many of these beauties out there like this for the PANAMA PACIFIC line! Lovely cream and blue IMMC International Mercantile Marine Company* all wool blanket is in VERY GOOD condition w/ a few spots, but overall very nice - MUST SEE PCIS! The photos w/ flash in the basement are to show overall size & make those stains look horrible, but actual color is seen in 1st photos (daylight, no flash) and those stains don't look near as bad in the light of day. This Co operated from the 1920s-1930s and ran down to Panama. We'd guess this as one of the ship's blankets and would certainly be warm enough for those cold nights at sea. This ship must not have sunk.

Oregon City TRADE blanket WHITE 6 lbs '30s Made to resemble a Hudson's Bay trade blanket down to the pelt stripes and just as high a quality a blianket, this is actually a 1930s Oregon City six pound wool trade blanket in EXCELLENT condition - MUST SEE PICS! A few nibbles toward one end, but nearly impossible to see and sure doesn't detract (I'm rather picky). This is a real honey - super full and one of the biggest blankets the Jacobs brothers made! Fuzzy full nap, hasn't been shrunk/washed, lies flat, almost heavy enough to be used as a restraining device! Most assuredly a rival to any Hudson's Bay blanket, the label dates this from 1920-1935 (mill went bust in the wake of the depression)*. Measures 72 x 88 inches - will not dissappoint. Oregon City soft weave PINK/Salmon blanket VG This nice Jacobs Bros. Oregon City wool blanket has the company's sixth and last label before going out of business. Unlike most of the trade blankets, plaid shawls, etc. Oregon City made, this is essentially a checkerboard pattern with a raised botanical type design - MUST SEE PICS! Features fringe on two ends - first photo truest to color. We notice a couple pea-dime sized holes and a couple spots (see last pic), but haven't tried to clean - will leave to next owner. 60 wide by 72 inches long. This isn't as dense a weave as most Oregon Citys we've seen, but an interesting warm artifact from one of the better blanket companies in American history. Dates between 1920-1935*-1950, although they no longer made Indian blankets past the 30's, the company remains somewhat active until 1950 - stylistically seems to be 1940s, but so far, we can get this into a 30 year slot. 1900s PLUSH VELVET Carriage CAR? BLANKET EX! This Victorian Era velvet blanket with batting is in EXCELLENT condition - could probably use a good fluff on the line with a rug beater to get the filling back into shape (a litte concentrated on edges), but otherwise this is an outstanding late-Victorian early AUTOMOBILE type carriage or sleigh blanket - MUST SEE PICS! Very heavy with plenty of 'plush' to keep you warm - still retains its original label PLUSH BLANKET 200 in smal white cloth. Features wild fantstic abstract loop design like wheels in motion - very curious and engaging. 57 x 88 although could be few either way because of batting clumping. This is an amazing piece of turn of the Century textile design - unsure of maker, mystery blanket. Twice as big as seen in first photo hung over loveseat. Big Western HORSE blanket VG PRIMITIVE OLD! Nice fuzzy nap on this great old horse blanket (84 x 80) with geometric design that goes well beyond simple plaids - MUST SEE PICS! A little light wear in the middle that only seems to show on one side, but this blanket is in VERY GOOD condition w/ no big holes (couple of tiny ones that could be mended, but can't see unless held to light - biggest shown w/ quarter in last pic -- more of a pull) or noticeable stains (light ones shown in first close up in center of pic) - very hard to see and don't detract from this super heavy blanket. The green is a bright vibrant grass green with a reddish orange/ persimmon complimented out nicely in brown, tan and ecrue - L@@K at pics. Quite possibly a Northern Ohio blanket, but unsure of manufacturer - early 20th Century. Stylistically, this is a nice companion to many early Indian trade blankets made by Pendleton, Capps and other companies where the pattern is dependant upon a complex geometry that breaks free of the typical plaid convention. Pendleton striped INDIAN blanket OLD VG SHAWL This nice older Pendleton blanket measures 68 inches long and 57 inches wide (not including the 4-5 inch rich purple tied/knotted fringe) - MUST SEE PICS! (rest of write-up coming...) VERY GOOD condition with a few tiny holes (see backlit photo) biggest shown with measurement - there are probably half a dozen to ten (haven't counted yet), but still presents itself well and would guess to the 1920s-1940s* The colors of this blanket are fantastic, very bright and very vibrant! Two colors of green, sunset tones with a white stripe in the center, more lines of black, yellow and purple - only Pendleton (and maybe a few other trade blanket companies) could pull offputting these colors together and not having something repulsive come out - this blanket is simply smashing! You'll love it! It's aged well and doesn't have big wear areas, the fringe is all there, braided & knotted - l@@k at pics! Capps NAVAJO pattern WOOL INDIAN blanket RARE This is the highly sought after NAVAJO pattern (no relation to authentic Navajo Nation items, just a name the company used to make it sound Indian) - made by the Capps Woolen Mill of Jacksonville, IL from 1913-17 - MUST SEE PICS!! This blanket has a few problems, but still presents itself well nonetheless - there are several holes, none too big, biggest a little more than a dime in diameter - felt edging is for all practicl purposes gone, there's a little bit of fading that's washed out the red in a corner of the label side (see corresponding pics) - because we want to let you know what's wrong with it, but don't want to make it sound worse than it really is either - still an uncommon piece and desirable in any condition. Capps are some of the finest Indian trade blankets ever made and this Navajo pattern is one of the more exciting ones to be found - we have seen this same patterned blanket sell in '04 for $360 and '05 for $510 - both in slightly better condition, but even the one that went for half a grand had some pretty big holes in it. We got a good deal on this and wish to pass it along - don't miss out. One of the intriguing features of this wool Indian blanket is that the pattern creates optical illusions of a subtle bulging - a great effect and a fantastic pattern any collector would be proud of. For a superb reference on Capps and other top blanket companies, we recommend Barry Friedman's tremendous book CHASING RAINBOWS, which features this blanket on page 77 (such a great blanket it even got its own full color page) and can be seen in the original catalog reprint on p68. Pendleton VINTAGE striped SHAWL blanket EXE! This nice, slightly more contemporary Pendleton blanket is a shawl with fringe and in EXCELLENT condition - MUST SEE PICS! Measure 70 tall by 66 wide NOT including the dark green fringe, which is complete all the way around. Has a Beaver State tag that Pendleton used for quite some time (1930-1972) with the 'Robes & Shawls' corner - would guess this dates to the 1950s-60s. There are NO noticeable stains, but there are two tiny holes - biggest is 3/16ths of an inch (will photo close up) - should show in the backlit photo. This is just an outstanding blanket with the ever popular multi-colored stripes of green and red that cut across a field of a tan desert sand color - a blanket you'd be happy to have in your collection or a decorative accent to really tie together that Western country feel. Beacon OMBRE Indian blanket Great PATTERN! This neat Beacon Indian patterned blanket has those great Ombre gradated tones - MUST SEE PICS!
