Convex Silhouette Family w/ Child These are'nt really silhouette pictures, but since they appear in the Vintage Silhouette Books by Mace - there a lot of people who collect them too. They would also look great in a home being decorated in the 1940's theme. Beverly Morris SUMMER DUCK 1891 HP engraving This is a wood engraving that has been painstakingly hand-painted circa. 1891 of a 'SUMMER DUCK' a very colorful wood duck that just jumps off the page - MUST SEE PICS! This is a plate from the 1891 book 'British Game Birds and Wildfowl' by Beverly Morris, younger brother of the famous F.O. Morris. The wood engravings were done by Fawcett, who also printed the work. Technically called a chromozylograph - after the duck's been printed then it gets painted to specifications - see close-ups where you can even see some of the brushstrokes! We have three of these prints that came framed with the text section on the bird adhered to the back. Lg. Pair Silhouette Benton Pictures Spring Couple This pair of large 8.25 x 6.25 inch SILHOUETTE pictures were made by the Benton Glass Co. circa 1930's. The reverse painted black shows a trellis that meets in the middle of the two pictures with them going for a walk in one & her receiving a bouquet in the other. The paper lithograph behind has white puffy clouds in the sky & pink spring blossoms on the trees. They are ALL ORIGINAL - MINT w/original back hooks & striped metal frames. 1930 Richards MINUET Silhouette Couple Dance This reverse paint on glass silhouette is identified on the back that it is one of a series of four 'Minuets Pierrettes' manufactured by C.& A. RICHARDS and dated on front to 1930 - MUST SEE PICS! On original paper lable afixed to back has number 313 44 embossed 'RICHARDS made in GERMANY. It has a hinged intact stand for sitting on a dresser/table and a ring for hanging on the wall. Front silhouette is in silver, black, yellow and copper - very attractive and bright. The picture measures a touch over four inches square. The couple in this picture have super outfits that are highly detailed - he holds her hand as she has a paper lantern hanging on the end of a long pole in her other hand. No flaws to list - NMINT. Vintage Convex Glass 3D Silhouette Round Chalk Picture This MINT convex bubble glass is not really a Silhouette, as there is nothing printed on the glass - but it is in the Silhouette book by Shirley Mace. The 5 inch round frame w decorative front edge is made of chalk with a shiny finish. All original with backing - 3 hooks to hold the picture in & hanging hook - MINT CONDITION! These pictures were made by Benton Glass Co. The 3D effect comes from the lt. beige corrugated cardboard that goes between the back & glass. Inside is a chalk molded lt. green basket w/ bow. 1933 Celluloid Mother Poem Picture w/ Unique Frame This is a celluloid picture that was made by painting a lovely scene & poem on the back of a thin piece of celluloid. Mother with two children picking flowers amongst the gardens around a cottage home. The sheet is then slipped between a hard cardboard back & a gold w/ blue gesso etched cardboard edging that becomes the frame when those two pieces were glued. Overall size is 4 3/4 x 6 7/8 inches. The back has it's original sticker & a pencil insciption: FROM H TO MOTHER - MOTHER'S DAY 1933. NMINT CONDITION with the only flaw - slight corner wear. 1930's Celluloid Mother Poem Picture w/ Unique Frame These celluloid pictures are great little pieces of nostalgia from the 1930's - MUST SEE PICS! The thin sheet of celluloid was back-painted with a lovely MOTHER poem featuring adorable children picking flowers around a cottage. The celluloid was then slipped between a cardboard backing before a etched frame piece of gold/blue/ gesso was glued to the front to make a frame. Overall size is 4 3/4 x 6 inches. MINT condition - unscratched - unfaded - very nice, displayable VINTAGE picture. The back still has the original hanging tag. Would make a nice addition to that bedroom dresser display of celluloid. Vintage SAFE Girl & St. Bernard Lg. ORNATE Frame Beautiful black and white print featuring a girl with her St. Bernard is entitled SAFE. Three inch wide convex frame is made of guilded wood with very ornate dainty composition lacework applied to the sides with floral designs in the corners.
