Dated 1875 on cover this is a VERY GOOD copy of a very hard to find school text devoted to teaching teachers about the state of MINNESOTA - MUST SEE PICS! Blue sheep bound book with paper illustrated covered boards - back has a series of ads for businesses - 78 pgs. Binding still tight, pages still creamy. Three maps - two of state with railroads + topography, one @ back shows section of Winona downtown near the Mississippi River. MINNESOTA: GEOGRAPHY, HISTORY, AND RESOURCES A Text Book For Schools (for the use of teachers) was written by Eugenia A. Wheeler and published by D.D. Merrill of St.Paul, MN c.1875 - either FIRST EDITION or very early state - no additional printings listed, 2pgs. of testimonials. Not an atlas per se, but early maps inside. Really nice condition - VERY GOOD PLUS with square corners, tight binding - colorful maps - MUST SEE PICS! Loaded with maps and illustrations throughout 195 pages, not including MN section or index. Includes 9 pages at rear about Minnesota - history,etc. + a nice page & a half color map of the state, hence the 'MINNESOTA EDITION' noted on cover.
