1916 Lincoln Memorial Architect Rendering This is the ORIGINAL VINTAGE 10 1/4 x 14 3/4 inch cover of the Sept.9,1916 Collier's The National Weekly Magazine. It is a sketch of the Lincoln Memorial that was in the process of being built at that time. It doesn't look exactly like the Memorial looks today so - I would gather that it could have been a preliminary sketch. It is entitled THE LINCOLN FARM BECOMES THE PROPERTY OF THE NATION - It is signed John Russell Pope architect (LL corner) & Franklin Bacon (LR corner) see close up pics. Cover is in excellent condition with no tears or flaws except for the light line in the center where these were folded to mail. NEW Sermons 1880 D. L. Moody RARE thick! VG! The Second Edition of SERMONS ADDRESSES AND PRAYERS. Nonetheless, it is a SCARCE if not RARE book by the famous Christian orator who founded the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago - Dwight Lyman Moody. Sold by subscription - this was published by H.S. Goodspeed & Co. in 1880 - the 1st Edition (1877) had 704 pgs. and this, the 2nd Edition has 844 pgs. - 140 MORE PAGES! Moody traveled extensively and spoke to more than 100,000,000 people! Pretty amazing individual and this is a great collection of his work. Book's binding is still tight! Hinges are still alright, rear one could be starting (I have more pictures if you'd like to see the hi-resolution originals - re: file#1103). Some wear to extremities, the worst being the spine head, but will hopefully show in pics - again, I'd be happy to answer any of your questions. Be sure to check out our leather bound D. L. Moody's work has been extensively reprinted, translated into a bevy of languages and a biography on him came out about ten years ago!
