This book talks of the five races of men who came to live in America. First it talks of the Red child, and how he lived before the White people came. Then it talks of the White child who comes from England on a ship to settle in America. The villages of the Black child in Africa, and life there is described, then a raid and a trip on a slave ship. The Yellow child comes from China to San Francisco Chinatown, and the Brown child from the Philipines comes to San Francisco, also.

There is wear to corners and edges. Page edges have become very dark. Cover has some stains. School stamp inside cover. Pages have darkened and many have smudges and spots. There are tears along the bottom edges of many pages. one page has a piecetorn out, 1 inch by 1/2 inch, not into the writing. About 3/4 inch of insect damage to inside rear gutter.
