Some of the stories record the beginnings of cities and towns of Harney County, including, Camp Harney, Harney City, Drewsey, Lawen, Crane, Harriman, Waverly, Buchanan, Princeton, Burns, Hines, Riley, Wagontire, Frenchglen, Diamond, Andrews, Fields, Blitzen, and the Narrows. Schools, churches, and businesses, along with pioneers of the county are discussed.
