How they improve their weapons and kill the sabre-tooth. How they make sandles, a water bag, baskets, and finally how the make tools and a fire drill. Then they go on a Mammoth hunt. Many illustrations by Howard V. Brown.

Very worn edges and corners, and tape on the spine. There are library stamps inside front and back. Creases in front fly and half-title page, and the frontispiece has creases and tears. Small edge tears along bottom of some pages.
