A very beautiful and delicate double neck vase with a maximum height of 6 1/2". It is 5" across. It has a large five pedal irridescent crystal flower with a continuation of stem and large leaf that is attached to both tubes and the base. The base has a strong irridescent luster of different colors. This piece was made by Harrach, Ca. 1900. A similar piece can be found in Truitt's Bohemian Glass Book - 1880 - 1940, on page 63, item three. This piece is perfect and a real eye-catcher. No damage.

Click for more detail...
Harrach
A large serving bowl done by Harrach. (unsigned) 12 1/2" x 7 1/2" and 4 1/4" deep and 6 1/2" to the top of the handle.

Extremely attractive amber and blue which Harrach is so known for. The two handles are lizards or salemanders with their tails looping into handles. All the blue glass fluouresc under black light. I was using a double-bulb black light. The bowl has a very large polished pontil with appropriate age marks on the bottom. For exactness of posting, one of the tails attached to the bowl (see photo) comes to a very fine piece of glass, and in the making, most likely, a small piece came off, 1/4". With the way the bowl sits, it is 100 percent unnoticeable. This does not detract from the value of the piece. This bowl is over 100 years old. Otherwise, no damage to the entire piece.

The blue applied trim is 1" long and is skillfully applied, crimped, twisted and shaped as only a Harrach piece would be done.

Click for more detail...
mopa
Up for sale is a fabulous Victorian vase that is rainbow mother of pearl with gold enamling. The top is crimped and turned down. It is in the "raindrop pattern". The vase reacts to black light because of the uranium content in it. It measures 11 1/4" tall. The exact vase can be seen in Shuman's "American Art Glass Book" on page 98, but Mr. Shuman's vase most probably was unsigned, because this vase was made by Harrach. It is signed witih the propeller mark with numbering on the top and the bottom.

Actually, it is not a propeller, but it is "feather plumes". It was derived from the Harrach family crest. The marks were crudely formed and they were applied by hand with an ink stamp, which accounted for their crude appearance. This vase is circa 1880. It is in perfect condition.

FOR EXACTNESS OF POSTING, PHOTO SHOWS A BUBBLE BURST. THIS WAS DONE IN THE MAKING, AND IT IS NOT A DAMAGE IN ANY SENSE. THE BUBBLE BURST IS ON THE SIDE OF THE VASE, SO IT CANNOT BEEN SEEN WHEN VIEWING THE FRONT OF THE VASE. THE PHOTO IS BLOWN UP TO SHOW THE BUBBLE BURST. IT IS APPROX. 1/4". YOU CAN ALSO SEE ANOTHER BUBBLE ABOVE AND BELOW THE BURST, WHICH HAVE NOT BURSTED.

THIS IS A SERIOUS FIND FOR A SERIOUS VICTORIAN ART GLASS COLLECTOR. Shuman's book is eleven years old and he listed it at $1,100 plus.

Click for more detail...
harrach1000b
This is a fabulous matching pair of Harrach vase that were probably made in the 1890's. Condition wise, they are both perfect. At the top you have a waive-like appearance of blue glass. The body of the glass is amber with dark blue, light blue, white, pink enamel work, and, then there is the fabulous gold guilding. All the enamel work and gold guilding goes completely around the entire vase. At the bottom is blue applied glass, which is similar in pattern to the top, except the bottom has six points where it is polished flat and smooth for correct sitting of the vases. Both vases have quarter-size polish pontils. They are 7 1/4" tall and 5 1/4" wide. PRICE IS FOR BOTH VASES but they can be bought separately for. One for $850.00 or both for $1,500.00
