This is a beautiful and rare piece of Findlay Onyx glass. this is called a spooner. This glass was made for less than a year in 1889. It was made by Dalzell, Gilmore and Leighton factory in Findlay, Ohio. Because of the brittle nature of the glass and blown layers, production did not last for very long. The pattern is Onyx, decorated with beautiful cased flowers and leaves. It is in beautiful condition with only a few very small, teeny, flea bites to the rim, which is not unexpected from this glass, and does not detract from the value, because of the extreme rarity of this glass. It has a polished mouth. It is 4 1/2" high. A beautiful piece of rare American glass.
