6 1910's Sweet Corporal Tobacco Baseball Pins
Lot consisting of (6) different Baseball Pinbacks issued by Sweet Corporal Tobacco from around 1910-12. Players include: Buck Herzog--Boston Rustlers. Played 13 seasons amassing almost 1,400 hits, Jimmy Archer--Chicago Cubs. Played 12 seasons almost all with the Cubs, George "Moon" Gibson--Pittsburgh Pirates. Played 14 seasons predominantly with the Pirates, Doc White--Chicago White Sox. Played 13 seasons and compiled 189 wins with a 2.39 ERA, Dolly Gray--Washington Senators. Played 3 seasons all with the Senators, Harry Wolter--N.Y. Yankees. Played 7 seasons. Pinbacks measure about 3/4". Slight yellowing to the bottom of the "Gray" pin but all others have nice color especially for their age. Backs of the Pins have the Sweet Corporal paper label. Interesting Book entitled "United States 1952 Olympic Book". Book is compiled of roughly 450 pages with info, stats and photos pertaining the Games of the XVth Olympiad in Helsinki, Finland, VI Olympic Winter Games in Oslo, Norway and the 1st Pan American Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 40s Football Player Pottery Coin Bank--Ohio
Pottery Coin Bank depicting a Football Player. He measures about 7 3/4" in height and is marked on the bottom in ink stamp Nouvelle Pottery Zanesville, O. The back of the base is also marked circle C Moyer. I'm guessing this piece dates somewhere around the 1940's. Overall he is in very good condition. I did notice a tiny fleck to the glaze on the backside of the Football as well as a couple very, very minor ones around what would be the belt area and his left shin. There is a letter "O" on the center of his jersey. I really not 100% certain if this was originally part of the Bank but this is how it was acquired. Also need to mention a couple very small nicks on the underside around the inner portion of the rim as you may be able to see in the photo. A very nice item for any collector of Pottery Banks or Football memorablia. Buyer to pay shipping & insurance.
