Offered is a just a superb, early Radio Tube Tester built into a very nice Oak Cabinet. I don't know much about this type of equipment but I would guess it was once used in a business of this field. The components to this Tester are marked Jewell Electrical Instrument Co. Dates somewhere around the 1920's to early 30's. As shown in photos there are several gauges to this piece. The largest gauge in the center says Acremeter, Pattern No. 31, Serial #5193, Galvanometer-Radio Frequency, 115 M.A., Jewell Electrical Instrument Co. Underneath this there is an emblem that also says Jewell Electrical Instrument Co., Chicago,Ill. There is two gauges to each side of this center gauge. Both are Direct Current, Milliamperes with Pat Nos. 1604611. The one on the left say 80-->35-80 and the one on the right says 80-->35-80 and 81-->40-80. Underneath these three gauges there is two switches that say Space Charge. Lower left is a gauge for Alternating Current/Volts and there is a plate underneath that says Set at Red Line, Operate at Exactly 110V. Center portion is a clear Plate Cover. Indicators light up for Filament Clear, Plate Short, Grid Short, and Cathode Short. To the right of this is the knob for Voltage Control. Bottom portion of the Cabinet has 19 Separate placements for Tubes. Each one has a plate indicating the variances in each tube's purpose. Bottom front portion of the Cabinet also has a Plate which says Acremeter, Owensboro, Ky Pat Nos. 510,007-504,195. There is also a Plate on the top back of the Cabinet that says Made by Builders Supply Co., Everett, Wash. I believe this is the name of the Cabinet maker. Size of this piece is about 33 1/4" in length, 19" in depth, and 23 1/4" in height. If you have any other questions or need addtional photos please ask early, as I will be selling this "as is". As you can see in the photos this piece is in excellent condition especially for it's age. This piece was purchased from an estate in Northern Ohio and was in the same house for 37 years. One more thing I forgot to mention is that around the edge(on the black)of the Milliamperes gauge on the right is engraved the name of the owner. Judging by both the interior and exterior's condition I would believe that this piece operates fine, but again I'm selling it "as is". I did plug this in and as shown in my last photo the bulbs in the back do light up. That's about all I can tell you but if I've left something out please feel free to contact me. Would be the centerpiece to any collection of Vintage Radio Equipment. Buyer to pay shipping and insurance.
