Vintage CHASE BLANKET WOOL HORSE HAIR BUGGY

This vintage blanket is from the late 1800's - early 1900's and was from a local ROMEO MICHIGAN estate. If you read something about this down, and see the pics of the house, most of the ones in the village have those old horse barns. Great great Grandpa and Grandma had a farm just outside the village. This is a wonderful TAGGED Chase horse wool blanket. IT IS VERY HEAVY.

You can actual see what I have been told are horse hairs in it. It has square, what looks like some type of weights in the corners. One side is a greenish color and the other is a brownish color. There are a few areas where the threads have 'frayed' one one side and a small area of flaw on the other (all are shown).

This was used in the old days for warmth when out in the carriage or buggy on the snowy days in the sleigh or buggy.

It is not one of the fanciful ones, but from a family of farmers. It measures approximately 48 x 63 inches. This would be wonderful if you wanted to do a design on it. It is also great just for warmth or a re-enactment.
