| What a find!!!! A set of six(6) plates and a platter that has been in the same family for over 100 years. White ironstone with light blue bands and lines, with sponged red leaves and light blue centers. The platter is impressed Elsmore & Foster(mismarked, actually Forster). Ca. 1850-60s. The plates are not marked. This pattern is in SPONGEWARE 1835-1935 by Kelly + Kowalsky on page 60. We just purchased these out of a Vincent, Ohio collection and were the owners mothers. Every piece is in Mint condition with no chips or hairlines. Wonderful colors. The platter is octagon shaped and is 15 1/2 x 12 inches. The plates are 8 1/2 inches D. Sold as a set only. Been together all these years, I'd hate break it up now. My wife thinks these would make a magnificent wall hanging arrangement. |
