Antique 10K yellow gold cameo pin-pendant with a pink conch-shell cameo of a muse with a lyre. The cameo is white on the front and pink on the back (as shown). The old-style safety clasp is dated by some cameo experts to about 1895; this style of clasp was only used for a short time.
The clasp and hinge have been soldered on after the original setting was made (does not show from the front); this leads us to believe that this cameo pendant is older, and the clasp was updated when that style came into fashion in the 1890s.
The clasp is hallmarked with the gold content.
The cameo is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
This pin-pendant measures about 1.5" tall by 1.12" wide.
