Magnificent 12-1/2 inch antique sterling silver soup ladle by Whiting in the Imperial Queen pattern. Excellent condition; the gold wash inside the bowl is in beautiful condition, although there is some wear to it on the outside of the bowl. There is a fancy monogram MVHC on the handle.
The back is hallmarked with the Whiting logo and the words Sterling Pat. 1893.
This ladle originally belonged to Margaret Van Horn (daughter of Colonel James Judson Van Horn) and Major General Edgar T. Collins. |
