Paint in very good condition, he has a scuff on one cheek and very very minor loss to the eye above, his jacket is a pale blue, his kitchen tool slightly rust color, hand painted and marked Japan on the base.The color is a creamy white. This one was to hole Aunt Jemma Pancake Syrup. Plastic, painted in cold paints the paint often was washed off even in cold water. One can imagine the syrup was likely washed off with each meal. She is pretty good, she has an average to less amount washed off than most. She is missing paint on her collar, bow, dish, and apron as shown in the photos. No dings. Black Americana Folk Art Homemade Salt Pepper Shakers Black Americana salt and pepper shakers that were hand made with love for a boys parents. (maybe an adult male as the work is very very good.) A little over 4" tall she has a green glaze dress on much like most Black American cook shakers. He is wearing a green chef's apron ho0lding a spoon, inscribed in the soft clay it says " Old Salt" below "popsil Peter is the Spice". She sports a pink scarf with polka dots and holding a spatula. On the apron it says (inscribed in the clay while soft) - and Mom adds the pepper. Inscribed on the base To Mom and Pop Johnny". " I've collected for 20 years and not seen another handmade set. Standing approximately 3 inches tall they are vividly painted with cute black and tan ears, eyes and paws. Overall crazing, no paint chips, dings etc. Ready to use or display. Blue bow -tie, clothes are pink striped and green "x" giving a checked appearance. They seem to have a blue bottom pan in the left hand. "Japan" stamped on the base in a greenish blue.
