Black American Bisque Boy & Girl Sitters
Black American Bisque Boy & Girl Shelf Sitters. Appears to be bisque or fine porcelain. This boy and girl sitters will sit on a shelf, or a small bench purchased from a craft store. He may have once had a small pole in his hand. The colors are wonderful. Made in Japan stamped on the base, and embossed across their "seats". From their seats to their caps they are almost 4" tall, their legs about 2". There are some paint flaws, a few black marks on her pants, and a rusty color on her shirt, much the color of his shorts and her veil. These may have occured when made. She has on a green necklace & bracelet, that seems unusual to me! She even has a green bracelet on the arm that is behind the boys back! Quality detail. Black Americana Black Memorabilia

Black Americana Mose1950? Iron Bank
Bank of Black American Male depicting Uncle Mose. He is dressed in his finery a red top coat, yellow pants, and holding his tophat. He is about 8 1/4" tall. weighing 2 lb. 8 oz. or so. The rust is rust more brown than orange. Features very detailed, there are lines drawn thro his eyebrows, separating his fingers & detailed collar and tie It doesn't appear to be repainted in anyway. There appears to be just one layer of paint, loss may be about 15% or less. very good condition. The paint loss is not extreme, the look is very authentic. A magnet sticks to the metal. Uncle Mose" is etched in his coattails. There is one screw at the back in the buttock area. I think made about 1950-1959, I am not positive. It has the characteristics such as smoothness of the paint referenced in an article recently as one way to determine age. (E266) Black Americana Black Memorabiia

Black American Boy & Girl Dolls
Black Americana folk art, homemade Black American boy and girl dolls. They have cousins #429. Dated 1935-1945 as seen in PJ Gibbs 1993 book "Black Collectibles Sold In America" These doll patterns were sold to American mothers, These four Black American dolls seem to be of the same pattern, each with their own creator's charm. This pair of dolls are 16-17"s tall. Adorable hand embroidered faces, even little seems on the sides give them "chubby cheek" looks. Sought after features by collectors of Black American dolls: embroidered features, details like cheeks, thumbs, even embroidered toes, hair sewn very well, even 1 pigtail on the Black American girl doll. Attire attributes: embroidered dress design, trim, apron. Black American dolls great condition, their only flaw are slightly limp necks, that occurred when the dolls were carried over a child's arm, and the head if not stuffed enough began to tilt over. Black American Porter & Case
Porcelain High Quality Black American Porter with a large suitcase that has the top open, Not sure why the top is open maybe to hold "calling cards."One of my favorite pieces this one's hard to part with..but our collection is now over 600 pieces so we must move along. You will be glad your purchased him, the paint is wonderful a very soft almost sage green, a shine, but soft, not harsh, His top hat is also sage green with some white and a "dapper" rust colored decoration on his hat, collar, pocket & cuffs. Gold trim on the openings of the case. White eyes Country of origin not indicated therefore likely a pre war piece. My guess would be German or Austrian. Black American

Black Americana Clothes Brush
Black Americana Wooden Clothes Brush depicting a Black American figure. This one is in very good condition. The paint is also in good condition, there is one spot on the right side that shows a paint flaw, paint is intact, just an extra amount of paint on that spot. Bright red hat and torso with white painted eyes, nose, buttons and red painted lips. Yellow grosgrain ribbon around the neck. The brush is in good condition with 4 areas of "red bristles" as was the way they were usually made. One side of the brush is slightly flattened, I assume where the brush laid when stored.
