Black Americana Cloth Doll
Black Americana cloth doll. Overall length 26" made of a textured brown to black material that feels velvety. Her head & chest are stuffed, her arms only mildly so. Button eyes & nose, embroidered mouth. One corner of her lips has been "loved" off. There are no tears in the doll body. Her cloth dress is sewn closed at the bottom. She has a long ribbon around her neck similar in color to the edging used at the collar. The dress is torn and has stains on the top and a larger almost tea colored one on the skirt. She is not mint, but there is something so "special" about her I had to have her. A country mustard color. I guarantee you will love her. Black American Black Memorabilia doll dolls Black American

Black Memorabilia Salt Shaker Black Americana
Black Memorabila salt or pepper shaker. Mammy dress in white with gold painted v neck apron, spatula and bandana trim. Says "Savannah Ga." For the life of me I have collected for 20 years and when I opened this "long stored" shaker I can't swear based on the base that this is "guaranteed" old...however the fact that there is "gold paint" trim, I strongly feel that IT does go back at least to the 50s. Inside the covet : Collector's Item Famous Songs Of Bert Williams Four records in album set C-25. Bert Williams died in 1922. But as long as songs are sung, Bert Williams will be remembered as the humble comedian from the British West Indies who taught millions of Americans to laugh and kings to Cake Walk. Columbia Records proudly presents an album of eight songs re-recorded from the old masters. World-famous for his homey philosophy and gentle humor. These songs which he had written to order for himself, reflected and magnified the spirit of the post-war erea in American life. Prohibition was one of his favorite themes. The Moon Shines on the Moonsine and Everybody Wants a Key to My Cellar were Bert Williams hits to kid the prohibitionists of that day. How These Records Were Made in a recording session sometime in the early Twenties. At the small end of the recording horn was a French plate glass diaphragm to which was attached a stylus lever supporting a recording jewel. This cut the vibrations of Bert's voice into a disc of soft wax previously heated so that it would take clear impressions of the lateral movements of the cutting jewel. These songs have been re-recorded from the original masters were unearthed in the files of the Columbia Recording corporation. The four 78s are in excellent condition. Awesome set, appeals to collectors of vintage records and Black Americana, Black Memorabila.
