| Black Americana at its finest. Excellent copy of Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. By Grossett and Dunlap. Binding is in very good condition, small amount of softness at the bottom of the edge binding, no tears or rips, just the binding that actually extends down just a little past the book itself. One other small soft spot at the base on the front cover where when reading the book someone would place their right thumb to open the book. Pencilled inside the cover on the left side "Merry Christmas Helen from ?Rudy or Russell. The inside cover both sides is a picture spread of a grand dressy ball. The gift giver was kind enough to not write on anyone's apparell or person. To the left of the cover page is a black and white print of "The Love Nest--Eliza and George" just above that line it says " A Universal Super Jewel Production" and to the far side of the line "Uncle Tom's Cabin". The face sheet states "Uncle Tom's Cain or Life Among The Lowly" by Harriet Beecher Stowe." "Illustrated with scenes from the universal super jewel production" "Grosset & Dunlap Publishers New York" 475 pages in very very good condition, no rips no tears, Very "genty" handled. Inside the back cover is again two scenes from the movie. There is no date, but obviously was released with the movie, likely late 1920's or very early 30's.There are a few other prints from the movie within the pages of the book.
