| Roseville pottery 6 1/2" vase. 1944 Pattern: Clemtis. Marked on base 188-6. Excellent condition with 2 very small pinpoint paint loss underneath the handle. These have been touched up extremely well and do NOT show from the top nor directly face to vase. The photo shown are before the touchup, the problem being in the photo we tried to show the tiny area it caught a "glare from the sun" and shows white, NOT the area we are talking about. The areas can only be seen upside down and with the knowledge of repaint having been done. My spouse and I turned it upside down 4 times and never noted it. Great mantle or cupboard display. Personally I think the vase should be used. There is also a matching pair of candlesticks if still availale on this site and a clematis jardiniere and pedestal. Baby boomers remember this piece from their childhood. Typically handed down to the next generation, roseville pieces then made their way into boomers parents home. The colors go well with the 60's champagne cocktail table by Heywood Wakefield that it is sitting on. The clematis blooms are on a background of Autumn Brown. The rich color is also the perfect complement to rich country woods, oak and pine. The style as well is comfortable with modern decor. The condition is overall extremely good. |
