Black American ragdoll, quality folk art, made with love. Black American women made these dolls for their own children, at times for those they cared for. Quality features sought after by Black American doll collectors are in abundance on this doll: finely embroidered lips, a "heart" shaped set of lips, face sewn from several pieces, creating a softer face, french knot nose, thumbs, attached arms & legs. Her ankles are slightly stained from her years of wearing her cute rubber shoes. The maker of this Black American doll, actually made the doll to fit the shoes! Addition of rick rack & matching grosgrain ribbon indicate clothes made for this Black American doll were made from the employers pricy hand me downs.
