Black Americana Folk Art Rag doll dressed unusually as a "sailor"REDUCED $50. In the 40's it was popular to dress little boys and girls in sailor suits, this is the first time I have ever seen a vintage Black American doll in one! 14" tall she has very tight wool hair. She possesses many sought after characterisitcs including the rare "ears" "tiny tiny" fingerss, nicely embroidered eyes with eyebrows, it appears her mouth was made from red cloth, and sewn so tightly it almost looks like embroidery. Her arms are attached with twine, her legs with the assistance of buttons. Her blue skirt is even pleated! The top is separate with a large color & very detailed white trim on the collar & sleeves. there is a tiny repair to her left leg that appears to have been done many many years ago.
