Autographed copy First edition by Norman Rockwell: My Adventures as an Illustrator. Garden City, NY, Doubleday & Company, 1960. Hardcover, dust jacket. Provenance: purchased 20 years ago Kutztown, Penn from a "then still active" 86 year old Boy Scout Leader named Duckmeister. This book was presented to him by Norman Rockwell with other scout leaders at a Boy Scout Jamboree in 1960. Norman Rockwell signed this copy, " sincerely Norman Rockwell" on the back of the first illustration. 7 3/4 " - 9 3/4 " tall. 436 pages, illustrations, photos. Very Good condition, it doesn’t appear the pages have been turne. The cover is black cloth, the author’s name and book title in gold print on mauve colored rectangle with a gold bar above and below. The same on the spine but there are 3 bars, 1 for title, then author, then Doubleday. The dust jacket has wear on the edges. paper loss, is soiled but basically intact, and it kept the book in wonderful condition over the years. This volume is the autobiography of Norman Rockwell, famous American painter, illustrator best-known for his images of American life, displayed for many years on the covers of the Saturday Evening Post.
