Heywood Wakefield coffee table stamped Oct 5 1950 #371 Champagne. Has the eagle in circle logo marked Heywood Wakefield. 36" long 18" wide 16" tall. Beautiful, in great condition. Heywood Wakefield like many furniture companies of this depression era had to re-evaluate their entire operation. They developed two lines of furniture in 1930 a conservative Colonial style line & a more risky modern line. He produced a line of modern mass-produced furniture for the middle class market. For the first time a line of furniture was designed for urban apartment dwellers rather than rural farmhouses or class bungalows.Russell wright became Wakefield's principal designer in 1934.
