Flag American likely from WWII. We believe the flag is a WWII Service Flag made for a factory, town, or association recognizing 15 men in the armed forces. The idea was designed and copyrighted during WW I. The pole suggests it was WWII. The red field is 35" long 24" wide, the tan field is 23" long and 11 1/2" wide. The five stars in the center have gold stitching in the center, those on the right & left have gold stitching on the edges, not the center. The stars appear to be hand sewn. The wood pole is 36" wide, with gold colored cvord. At some point there was some moisture as there is a slight red dye on the fabric that secures it to the flag. The fabric is not canvas, but some type older fabric. This may have been a fraternal organization flag, we really don't know. We've had it hanging on a wall for 20 years, purchased in Pennsylvania.
