Manufacturer: New Hall
New Hall Commode shaped Teapot. Porcelain. England. Unmarked. c.1805-1810. This absolutely wonderful Commode shaped teapot, attributed to the New Hall company, is about 200 years old! The shape is based on silver service teapots. Entirely hand painted with sprigs of flowers & leaves in pinks, purples & green. Detailing on the handle & spout.

A sort of lattice work decorated cartouche surrounds the raised lip opening of the body. The same decoration appears on the lid. Gold teardrops decorate the final. The predominant color used in the decoration is pink, although in the pictures it appears to be salmon (couldn’t quite capture the color). New Hall teapots of the same shape & similar patterns appear in "An Anthology of British Teapots" by Phillip Miller & Michael Berthoud. CONDITION: Very Good (tip of spout has been redone; gilt wear).
