11x5" Early Art Nouveau Austrian lamp with frolicking cherubs. This whimsical piece comes from the early 20th century. On the lamp are two frolicking cherubs, one plays a lute while the other watches, balancing a basket of fruit on his leg. This piece possesses a true sense of animation in the active angels. The top of the lamp is also graced by a floral theme, wih leaves and berries. Fantastic detail with the cherubs. Not wired. Stamped '9112 21' and also numbered '109' along with the "Oldest Volkstedt" marking. Excellent condition. |
