Overall Size 12.5x18.75" Art Deco Bronze Plaque, by sculptor and metalworker, Rene Paul Chambellan (1893-1955), commemorating the "Lammot Dupont Safety Award," given to Sunolin Chemical Company in 1979. Known for his contributions to major architectural works from the Art Deco period, Chambellan's sculptures and metalwork prominantly decorate numerous iconic New York City buildings, including Rockefeller Center, the Chanin building, Radio City Music Hall, and the New-demolished RKO Roxy Theater. He is also known for creating medals and medallions, such as the Caldecott and Newbery awards. |
