PallmeKonig81-2

Pallme Konig 9 inch Spectacular Vase Major piece of Pallme-Konig threaded glass: 8.5 inch tall, 9 inches wide, iridescent deep purple/red vase with rolled rim. Pallme-Konig, perhaps the most significant Bohemian glassmaker, is often mistaken for Loetz glass, and was in fact a competitor of Loetz. All were in production at time of Tiffany glass in America. This huge centerpiece vase is in superb, excellent condition; all threading original and appears totally intact. Very large certerpiece worthy of any fine collection. Large pontil on bottom. See "Bohemian Glass" by Truitt, page 103, for similar pieces.

De Vez Cameo Vase De Vez Cameo Opalescent Glass Vase, early 20th century from the Pantin Glass Works. Pantin Glass dates from 1855 with the Cristallerie de Pantin. The firm was an early developer of iridescent glass and was among those admired by Louis Comfort Tiffany at the 1889 Paris International Exhibition. Shortly before 1910, the firm was joined by Camille Tutre de Varreaux who became artistic director. All vases designed by de Varreaux are signed "de Vez." His pieces were carefully executed in two or three layers with acid cutting and reflect adventurous designs of landscapes, florals, and animals. This cameo vase is of ovoid shape with cylindrical neck overlaid with dark persimmon cut with flowering poppy stems and a butterfly on a textured opalescent ground, signed de Vez in cameo. Height 8 inches
