Gold-amber pulled feather vase, signed Kew Blas, Union Glass Co., Sommerville, MA, small raised rim on oviod form, decorated with gold pulled feather decoration on an amber-colored ground, ht. 4 inches. Kew Blas glass was produced by the Union Glass Co. in the early 20th century, contemporary with Tiffany Studios Favrile glass. Kew Blas specialized in precise symmetry of the pulled leaf or pulled feather design (See Miller's Art Glass by Louise Luther, page 56). This piece has exquisite design with amber-gold iridescent pulled pattern over amber-opal glass, almost pearl-like.
