Mont Joye enameled and gilt glass vase, circa 1900, with enameled iris blossom on one side in purple, white, and green tones, with gilt foliage on a frosted ground. Height 5 1/8 inches. Signed on bottom with proper Mont Joye mark with shield mark enclosing a mitred bishop with the words "Mont" and "Joye" on either side, and "L&Cie" below. In excellent condition save for one missing gilt "droplet" at top rim (minor) and shown in photo (see upper right front rim). Mont Joye was a Marketing Trade Name for Legras. These works were a range of cameo glass with transparent body with frosted surface, enameled floral designs, and considerable gilding. They were produced at the Pantin works in approximately the first decaed of the 1900's. (Ref. Arwas)
