| This lot consists of a Vintage Pottery or maybe porcelain liquor jug from the Anton Riemerschmid distillery in Munich Germany. It is in VERY GOOD condition with no nicks, chips, cracks or dings but a small portion of the cork missing. It stands approx. 7" tall and approx. 4 1/2" diameter at the widest point. It has a handpainted boquet of flowers on the front. The paper "Blue Ribbon" around the neck is in German and reads "ANTON REIMERSCHMID, ENZIANBRENNEREI, MUNCHEN, GEGR.1835" on one side and "HODJLAND, ENJIAN 40 VOL %" (if we read it correctly). The part of the ribbon label that wraps around the neck also reads "ANTON REIMERSHCMID, MUNCHEN," and has a figure of a person with a axe or hammer on his or her shoulders. The rest of this label reads,"700ml. DEUTSCHES ERZEUGNIS". The red label next to the handle reads, " BAYERSICHE BAUERNMALEREI, HAND-BEMALT". It is marked on the bottom with the same figure of a person carrying the axe/hammer, and 0.7. We don't know German, and hope we have represented accurately what the labels say. |
