Charleston Single House Bronze Door Stop - Signed and Dated
Size: 8 H x 4½ W x 2-5/8 D
Weight: 5¼ lbs.
Condition: Very good with good patina
The bottom has the remnants of a felt
padding. These can be removed if so desired.
Markings: Initials on front of base and inscriptions on side: March 8, 1981A Charleston Single House by Pyrus Rowland ? The First initials of the first and last name are up for interpretation. Metal: Non-magnetic w/Bronze finish Residents of Charleston developed a unique house type known as the Single House. Called Single Houses because they were a single room wide.
Found in NYC at an Estate Sale in the 1990's.
